Felix Mendelssohn's “Wedding March” from A Midsummer Night's Dream, Op. 61 is one of the most recognizable pieces of ceremonial music in the classical repertoire.
Its brilliant opening, energetic triplet figures and festive character have made it particularly associated with weddings and recessional ceremonies, while its strong melodic identity also makes it effective as concert and chamber repertoire.
Many instrumental arrangements reproduce only the famous opening or substantially simplify the original texture. Mendelssohn's orchestral score, however, contains a richer succession of secondary voices, harmonic movement, articulations and contrasting material.
This arrangement by Maiko Thomé de Araujo was developed with reference to Mendelssohn's original orchestral score, adapting its musical structure to:

Rather than simply doubling the main theme, the two recorders interact through independent and complementary melodic lines, sharing important thematic material while preserving more of the contrapuntal and orchestral character of the piece.
The bright, clear sound of two soprano recorders gives the Wedding March a distinctive ceremonial character, while the piano supplies the harmonic weight, rhythmic foundation and additional voices needed for a complete chamber performance.
The edition follows the broader musical progression of the piece rather than presenting only a short ceremonial excerpt.
Characteristic triplets, trills, articulations, accents and harmonic changes are retained where practical, while the performers remain free to make subtle adaptations of articulation, breathing, phrasing and balance according to their instruments and performance setting.
This makes the arrangement useful both as wedding music and as substantial recorder chamber repertoire.
Chord symbols are included as an additional harmonic reference, useful for rehearsal, analysis, arranging or adapting the material for other accompaniment possibilities.
Keep the characteristic triplets light, precise and flowing, with both recorder players matching articulation closely whenever their parts move together. Plan breathing so that the musical line remains continuous, and avoid allowing the brighter upper register to become overly sharp. The piano should provide breadth and rhythmic stability while leaving enough space for both recorders to remain clear and balanced.
