The tourdion (also spelled tordion) is a lively Renaissance dance closely related to the galliard, widely associated with French court and social dance practice from the 15th–16th centuries.
Many well-known tourdion melodies circulate through early printed dance collections, including publications by Pierre Attaingnant, one of the most important early music printers/publishers in Paris.
This edition is arranged as a practical soprano + alto recorder duet in A minor, ideal for consort class, teaching ensembles, and short encore-style performances.
